Overview

A prominent player in the agri-business sector aimed to stay competitive by launching an ecommerce platform, viewing it as a way to meet customer expectations and boost revenue. This shift was significant, as the client was traditionally a brick-and-mortar business accustomed to personal client interactions. After migrating their site to Shopify, the next step was to implement ecommerce functionality. The initial rollout featured a ‘Buy Online Pickup in Store’ model, with plans to add delivery for certain products in the following weeks. The project began with one store and was set to gradually expand to include 40 more stores.

Concord, a long-term partner, had previously supported the client with website hosting on dotCMS, development, and content management. We facilitated their migration to Shopify, which offered a more cost-effective ecommerce solution compared to a custom build on dotCMS.

Results

We worked with the client to select and customize a Shopify theme that included product detail page customization, inventory controls, and customer notifications to ensure a smooth experience. The implementation also used AWS, UptimeRobot for site alerts, Loadster for load and stress testing, and Matrixify for bulk data handling.

The project was completed successfully and on budget. The platform showed positive initial results and was designed to scale as additional stores were added, positioning the client well for expanded ecommerce operations and an enhanced digital presence.
